Marco Fischer

I am a photographer and artist based in Eastern Switzerland, inspired by vibrant colours, creative perspectives, and the quiet beauty of the natural world. My work focuses on travel, animal, and macro photography, allowing me to explore both distant places and the often-overlooked wonders close to home.

My fascination with nature, animals, and insects began in childhood and continues to inspire me today. Through macro photography, I strive to reveal the hidden details and delicate moments that are easily missed by the naked eye.

For me, photography is more than just capturing a scene; it is a way of seeing. I love experimenting with light, exploring new techniques, and discovering unexpected compositions. Each image presents an opportunity to tell a quiet story, spark curiosity, and offer a fresh perspective.

Recently, I have become increasingly interested in impressionistic photography and creative image editing. These approaches allow me to blur the boundaries between reality and imagination, bringing an artistic, almost painterly quality to some of my work.

Specializations

Macro and close-up photography allow me to uncover extraordinary details that often go unnoticed by the human eye. I am endlessly fascinated by the smallest things: delicate flowers, tiny plants, and the secret lives of insects and small animals that typically escape our attention in our busy everyday lives.

By using specialised lenses and techniques, I explore this miniature world in detail. Each image encourages us to slow down and truly observe, fostering an appreciation for the quiet beauty that surrounds us when we take the time to look closely.

This journey behind the lens has also reignited an early passion of mine: entomology, the study of insects. Capturing the intricate forms, textures, and behaviours of these tiny creatures allows me to blend artistic expression with scientific curiosity within a single frame.

Beyond the visuals, macro photography has become a deeply calming and mindful practice for me. The patience, precision, and focus it requires provide a meditative experience, helping me stay grounded, present, and deeply connected to nature.
